Trail 133 (Gay to Lac La Belle)

Any foresight into whether this trail will be open/groomed this coming season? Will the loggers be active again restricting/closing the trail?

We are hoping so, but we are always at the mercy of the loggers and this is a big winter logging area, as it is swampy and can only be logged in the winter when things freeze up. In many years we do not know the status of the logging impact on our trails until the last minute...sometimes even AFTER the season has started.

Sorry I could not give a firm answer, but that is the best I could do.

Seems that trail is closed every year, @ least when I've been there. I think in the last 20 yrs or so, I've been on that trail twice if it is the one I'm thinking it is. JMHO

Confused here, Beer Belly Bobs is in Greenland. Bear Belly Bar is in Lac La Belle, No ? Best to not get the two mixed U.P.

Beer Belly in Greenland is closed as of March, saw Bob at Parkview in June having dinner with Lenny and said he will not reopen.

Folks who want to get to the Beer Belly just need to take 3 to the 132 loop. That's way more direct anyway. Trail 133 is a bit of a commitment just to get to a place to eat and get a drink.

I meant the Bear Belly in Lac La Belle.

Yeah, I meant La Belle Lake too.

Just came back from British Columbia yesterday and every lake sign is in English and French; what a waste of money. I think a grimy American such as myself can discern Lac from Lake and invert from rear to front of name. Or, is it front to rear, now I'm messed up; damned you French.

Oh yeah, whoever said the U.S. dollar is strong in Canada by 30% may not understand everything in Canada is marked up 50% before the exchange rate is applied.
I did stand on a glacier with plenty of melt to cool the slides and room to ride.

that 50% markup is the cost of FREE Healthcare.

I imagine there is truth there but I wish I new more. Was a job in Surrey, B.C. a while back I wanted to apply for but did not.

A friend that lives/works in Canada says he pays 30% of his wages to fund Nation-wide healthcare. My guess is he earns about 230k (CDN) which sounds excessive.
