Trail 2 reroute

The trail 2 reroute sucks. SURE the club did all they could. Not blaming them. But
alot of road and blind corners. Gotta thank people with loud pipes and not staying on trail for
losing a great trail.
Anyone traveling from Hurley/Ironwood area to Bergland is not going to
be happy.

No, it is rerouted just west of Ramsey, goes through blackjack and indianhead ski hills and ends up
on the Northwest corner of Sunday Lake in Wakefield.

Got it. Must cross by the old country store on Hwy 2 (I think there ways a Y in the trail there before you cross US 2 if I remember right) and routes you around the back side. Must come out someplace by Waninks Garage on Sunday Lake. Interesting. Do they have the grade blocked so you can't get into Ramsey? If so, it's gonna hurt the Keystone Bar. I enjoyed stopping in there. Good people!!

Trail is open into Ramsey. There is still access to keystone bar. The new route to Wakefield runs over the ski hills, from the "Y" at Ramsey. I'm a little bias but I think it's a beautiful trail through the woods. Expesialy the east side of Indianhead heading towards Wakefield. It is a hilly ride though.

Yes it follows the old 11n all the way past blackjack then into the woods up over Indianhead

Fyi; I am a downhill skier and sledder and they do not mix. Skiers see sledders as polluters, wildlife averse and noise populaters. I used to ski In the Sierra and the Sierra Club hated sledders. I must say I liked the old trail for multiple reasons.

for the most part I agree with you, I do however like the picturesque ride of the new route. But everyone is different.

I didn't mind the new reroute but I know what you mean. It is true the access to the Keystone bar is still there basically the trail ends there. We stopped at the Keystone bar this year and the guy loves seeing the snowmobilers. He is a super nice guy that isn't very happy about the reroute. But he was happy to hear that they still have a sign for him on the trail. Stop in there if you head that way he is a great guy. I will be back up that way tomorrow.

We stayed at blackjack this weekend. Road trail will be shot with any warm weather. Its a shame going from a pristine rail grade to road trail as a result of this reroute. It all stems from a landowner with a pond adjacent to the trail with bowl features that attracted the reckless and disrespectful. As people have said it before we are our own worst enemy. Its sad and makes me mad, frustrated and depressed.
