Didn't ride much of it personally, but ran into some riders on Saturday who said Trail 5 Iron Mountain to Sagola was all great that morning.

Rode from Amasa to Republic Saturday and the trail was immaculate! Did not see a single sled on that 45 mile stretch. Shhhh!

Thanks Wolfy. I heard from the club that they are training a new groomer driver on 5 this week so they will be running it twice which means 4 grooming runs. Hopefully I will check it out on Wednesday and Thursday

5 up to 16 was perfect yesterday, we were sleds 1 and 2 after groomer.

If ya do Koski up to Big Bay DON'T take the short cut from the BP, better to sacrifice the carbide on the road!

I rode 5 from Iron Mountain to Koski today and I read your post about the short cut about 30 mins after we went through there. Yes, you are right, not good this year. Never really is, but lots of water and downed trees. we barely made it and I was on a 2up today.

Well we rode Trail 5 from Iron Mountain to 32/33 east to Gwinn. Had a late lunch at Up north lodge then headed north on 8 to Ispheming and on to Koski corner to top off with gas. From there we rode 5 south all the way home to Spread Eagle, WI. ALL of the trails were as good as I've ever seen them. Unbelievable day with my son riding. We saw groomers from Tri-County, Moose country and Hiawatha and I must say I was impressed with all of the trails! We hardly saw anyone all day. Maybe 3-4 groups of 4-6 sleds in 270 miles.

Anyone looking for great trails and low traffic should check out this area.

I got the same Venture Gt so I know what ya mean, I had the low windshield on (to fit in the enclosed triton) and just made it under 1 tree, if I had the tall windshield I would have had to take the folding saw out!
