I'm guessing that somebody with a rototiller track punched it right there and dug down into the ground?

Looks like ice chunks from a snowmobile, or most likely groomer. No way that is bare ground...
Just went by there about 30 minutes ago and packerlandrider hit the nail on the head. Still tons of base, probably 1-1.5 feet on the trail. It was some nasty looking snow from the road crossing that tumbled out of the drag as the groomer went through after crossing the highway.

I was wondering the same about Cam 2 - looks pretty dirty down in south range on Trail Cam 1, hoping that's just because of the road crossing right there, but in "normal" years it wouldn't be that way, but then again this year is NOT normal......................
