Posted in area conditions thread, thought I'd get more views here.
Anyone have a link to a map of the atv/snowmobile trails? It's my understanding that you can't ride the snowmobile only trails. Are there still a lot of options to ride if I came up. Are all the loops north of the bridge legal. Where would you recommend staying north of the bridge. What about south. Freda loop and 3 is open but what about the other loops. Where would be a good spot to stay in that area. Can u get fuel in copper, lac la belle, Phoenix, etc. thx

I have a 2013 map in front of me, in you contact the keweenaw chamber today you might be able to get one by the weekend. The ATV trails north of the bridge are, 17 and 3 from Hancock just north of Laurium, trail 3 north to 134 to Copper Harbor. Trail 124 from Phoenix to Gay, 151 to Eagle River, Eagle Harbor trail, trail 132 to Lac La Belle, the trail to High Rock Bay, the trail to Fish Cove and the trail to Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. So trails illegal to ride would be 133 Gay to Lac La Belle, 130 Eagle River to Eagle Harbor Brockway Mountain trail, trail 132 Lac La Belle from Eagle Harbor to Lac La Belle 122 from Lake Linden to Gay, Dollar Bay to Dreamland to Lake Linden. This is just a quick overview if you have a

Specific question you can ask, again this is a quick overview and not to be taken as the right to ride legally. Contact the chamber for a free map to check routes you intend to ride.

thank you. Sounds like we are heading up tomorrow am. Can you pick up ATV maps at mm in hancock or maybe krupps? Could you give me a quick rundown on whats fair game south of bridge to the mass greenland area. Planning on staying south of the bridge maybe tomorrow and north on wednesday. Any suggestions on lodging for 3 south of the bridge. I understand they pulled the matt off the bridge. Any way to get to the hancock side by sled or absolutely necessary to trailer? thx again

It was possible to get through Houghton via Trail 3 on Saturday with the snow that fell on Friday. Not sure what it looks like currently, but would expect if the storm drops 6-10+ in the next 24 hours that would get you through Wednesday(???)

While I didn't go directly over the bridge, I saw the Houghton "on-ramp" was covered in snow and had snowmobile tracks going onto it. Do not know how the portion under the bridge looked like, but have heard from numerous people that the worst thing about driving over the un-matted bridge is the sound - just take it really slow. As I said in a previous thread, trail 3 along the canal in Houghton was all snow covered, and probably still is.
