I've done it before. Use a blow dryer to warm it up, and pull slowly.... Switched windshields and had to move it.

usually when you pull them it will say void. One year I had that happen and it just happened that the sticker was yellow and I had some yellow paint so I painted below it and you couldn't tell but your taking your chances. times are hard around here so I see a reason to get a fine.

Or cut out the section of window that has the sticker on it. Cut it large enough so you can drill a hole to mount it in one of the shield screws. Also what was stated above they will replace the sticker for a few dollars.

Been there done that. DNR will NOT accept a screwed on permit from a broken wind shield. Thats like putting your sticker on a pc. of plastic so you can move it from sled to sled. In the past you were SOL. Suck it up and buy a new sticker, Michigan needs the money.

According to the Michigan DNR site the sticker "must" be permantly affixed to the sled. screws can be removed. Removing the sticker will bring a void embedded message to be seen, thus voiding the trail permit. You want to see a grown person cry. I lost a windshield a few yrs. back. Canada permit was $230, Michigan permit was $25, Wyoming permit was $25. windshield was $90.

When I removed mine, and I've seen others do it, no 'void' showed up. But maybe they changed the stickers recently???

Yep thah sucks happened to my bud last year. The stitcker is designed to selfdestruct if you peel it off but worth a try with heat gun. Probably will need to buy another sticker.

And for the record, the strategic sticker placement happened here first, Mr. Dee is the copycat.

In michigan do you always have to put the sticker on your windshield i have been putting my wyoming non resident stickers on my tunnels and never had a problem

Your sticker does not have to be on your windshield in MI. Above or below you headlight preferable center or right of center will pass as long as it is under head light. DNR can check more trail stickers per hour this way. I really don't have any good spots below the windshield on either sled. My RMK has the Wyoming sticker on far left side of hood (sitting on sled). That passes out there. Word of warning! anyone riding in the Irons/Wellston/Cadillac coridor will be checked at least once if not several times in a weekend. Especially in the Caberfae Ski Resort area.

funny

I just place mine on my helment so I'm always covered.

Now that is funny , And a good idea.

You know I dont drink and ride anymore so Im willing to take a few more chances.

I am going to give the the trail permit on the helmet thing some thought.

At least the Michigan sticker is a little smaller than the neighboring state permit. It can get downright hard to see if you ride a couple of states legally.

How much does it cost to make trail stickers the size of a pie pan?

To the original post, they did change the Michigan stickers a few years back. We first noticed it during the 08-09 season. May have changed earlier, but we didn't break anything major for a couple of years.
