Arrived on 16th Root cellar, 4:30 headed out trail 13 towards bergland, hats off to Gogebic grooming crew as 13 was EXCELLENT! Hopped on 8 towards ewen trail was fair but mind you was a Saturday afternoon but once hit ewen 8 went from fair to excellent, took 3 north conditions were excellent was going to take 3 towards Parkview for bite to eat but was fair to poor and was poor north of firesteel bridges especially where logging access was taking place on 3. Headed back to rockland to henrys ate and headed back on 13 trails were good until came to 101 intersection then were excellent all the way back to Gogebic. There is one section of 13 where there is a detour sign, didn't say 13 was closed ahead so wasn't really sure where to take so continued on 13 and found un groomed as I assume large fallen tree hanging over trail, wish they would have just said closed, so when you see detour sign take it. Day 2 headed back down 8 was good, onve hit ewen went to excellent took 3 down towards bond falls trails were excellent, and for those that haven't seen bond falls it is definitely a MUST STOP continued down looped around came up 107 trails excellent took 8 east to sadinaw again excellent took 109 up towards twin lakes trail was excellent, then there was an incident with my finance and I on the trail which ended up with bodily injury and sled damage, were able to ride back slow but that was the end of our riding for the duration. Sled is repairable not quite sure of extent of injury to knee yet but could have been much worse, was a slip of the throttle while we were stopped to allow a group of riders through in the twistys on 109. Her knee is in a immobilizer right now awaiting orthopedics to look at it.
