Trailer Bearing Replacement

Both my inner and outer cones blew out, blowing off my dust cap, replaced the races and bearings and reinstalled hub and tire but my dust cap does not fit anymore, it is too small. How is this possible?

The inside of the hub may have gotten worn.chewed up a bit, or the dust cap is the wrong size??

I believe they make a couple of different size dust caps and or "Bearing Biddies"

so you may want to try the next larger size to see if that works for you

I had the same thing happen to me. Just got a couple different caps and tried them. One of the new ones was loose, and the other was a little too tight, so I just kinda forced that one on with a piece of wood.
Nothing fits right anymore, now that everything is made over seas, ya know.
