Trailer length for three sleds

We're thinking about buying a new 3 place Aluma trailer and possibly adding a floe or similar enclosure in a couple years when we can afford it. Should we buy a 14' or a 16'? All of us currently have 121" sleds. I'm thinking it might be worth the extra $ to buy the 16' now.

If you go to longtrack's, 136 or bigger, the back end of the 3rd sled will hang off a 14' trailer so you wouldn't be able to put a cover on it. 3 121's fit fine. I've got a 3 place Aluma and it has been an excellent trailer for 10+ yrs.

That makes a difference because you are going to want to make sure you get a trailer long enough that things don't hang over in order to make sure enclosing is an option. I put three long tracks in my enclosed 12' Triton but its REALLY tight and would be MUCH easier if i had a 14 foot, but 12 foot was what i found, and could afford at the time. Here is a pic of the three in the trailer because most people don't believe that we make 3 long tracks fit in a 12 footer. 04 sabercat 144", 04 summit 144" and a 05 renegade 136"

Mike99 - is that really a 12' box? I can't imagine how you can got 3 sleds in that, much less long-tracks. I can see the picture though. You said it's a Triton trailer...is that a Triton cap on it?

Looks like a Flat Tire waiting to happen. If you want to haul 3 Sleds buy a Trailer that Has room to Spare. I have a 28ft enclosed and it will haul 5. I think all 5 could be 136 and they would fit. I have 22' before it narrows down and there is no way I could put 3 Sleds in 12'. The 5th Sled in mine is in the nose, tight to the front.

Mike better take a Tape out and measure unless the Ski's are hanging 2 feet over the front because there is at least 4 feet in back of the two Sleds and I know they are 10 ft long. A Renegade is 122.4 inches long.

Yes it is a stock 12' Triton trailer with a Triton cap. As far as flats, one of the first things that we did was upgrade to 20.5x8x10 load range E's. The axle is a 2500# axle so we are fine there, and nothing hangs out. We do this all the time. Probably have 8000 miles wroth of hauling our sled like this. It takes some doing but everything fits under the hood just the way you see in the picture. I just posted the picture so that people can see it can be done but it's not easy. Not the way i want to do things but its just a matter of making the best of the cards your dealt(or can afford). If anyone want i can explain how to make this work. It took us about 2 hours to figure it out the first time.

Thanks Mike. I think we'll end up going with a 14' and then later adding a cap to it. I'd like to do it all at once but it is too much money right now for us.

I purchased a leftover 20'floe flat trailer after the first year of return'n back home and pressure washing 6hours of salt and slush off in freeze'n temps... Sent it back to the factory and they added a enclosure...
