Trailer light problem

Help!! I have a 4 place enclosed 1999 Featherlite trailer with a rear passenger side tail light problem. There is power to the fixture---tail light and turn signal---but only the tail light illuminates. I changed fixtures but no change. What the heck???? Power is there for tail light and turn signal via test light; tail lamp works but no turn or stop lights. If it were a simple ground problem it seems to me that the tail light would not illuminate but that's clearly not the case................ what am I missing???

If you think there is a chance it is grounding issue take a pair of jumper cables and connect the to the trailer and the truck just to eliminate that as a possibility. I would also agree if the bulb stayed the same when you changed the fixture try a new bulb also make sure it is the correct bulb two filaments and in correctly. I am sure you will find the problem or problems
Good luck

Thanks, fellas. I tried 3 different fixtures including a new one. The new fixtures come with the bulb intact and you can't open them so I am assuming they are ok. Any further insights??

Merry Christmas!!!

Jumper cables from the truck to the trailer frame wont work because each light is grounded thru the wire not the frame. The problem with the ground is probably at the plug or on the truck. The ground is the white wire and sounds like your problem.

Trailer light issues are usually ground problems. Did you try testing at the socket with the running lights off? The right turn/stop should be green. Turn on your signal and look for a blinking light from the green wire. Is there any bleed from the brown wire? Did you try running a hard ground from the truck? Trace all wires back and look for a break. Wires and sockets/plugs from 1999 are probably all brittle. It might be time to fully rewire rather than finding this problem and having the left side go out next year.
