Looking for a place to park a three place trailer and launch from between Michigamme and Nestoric.
Planning on riding the logging/forest roads north towards Mount Arvon in a couple of weeks.

Thanks
Brad

The big questions is where do I park? I have driven up that road several times during the summer and never really saw a good place for parking or turning around with a 27' trailer.

Would be VERY tight trying to turn around a 27 footer at the end of Peshekee. They do plow out a little parking spot but it fills up fast. I've had trouble turning around with a 2 place because the lot and both sides of the road were full. I would ask Maple Ridge resort if you could park and unload there. They have quite a bit of room and very nice/helpfull people. Even let me use their shop and tools once, when I ripped my A-arm off. ( I was staying there at the time)

Note: if you park down in Michigamme it's something like 14 miles road riding up peshekee to where they stop plowing. Could be problematic in early season.

some of the side roads circle back to the road heading out. check google maps.

Most, if not all, are unplowed in winter. They barely plow peshekee....lol. I've been busting 10" of powder with the truck on the way out before! Not really a place to go "explore" with a 27' rig.

you could do what we had to do....pull sleds out of trailer.....hook onto to trailer and pull backwards down road till room....but then do what we didn't do....was coordinate stopping sign hand signals on pulling sleds....broken tail lights both....LOL...another adventure

I know but at least it will give you an idea of what's under the snow if you try to pull a jackknife turn around maybe set a waypoint at the closest intersection around before the plow ends I would not recommend a 27' going back there if you do it please take pics/vids.

Just go early . Be up there by sunrise and you will be fine . If you like to sleep in not the place to go . We bring extra gas /grill /food eat by the trailer . We try and get out of there before sunset once that sun goes down gets pretty cold . Another road to go up is wolf lake road . More east of the peshekee but another good ride . Just go no farther than is plowed . So far in herman they are at 60 inch for the season .

is Koski corner too far east for you? In case you don't know, it's at the intersection of M95 & 41. If not, this is a great place to park. Gas station across the street. Huge parking lot. I have a 29' enclosed trailer and park there almost every year. Parking is lit up at night too.

UPDATE: Went up last weekend and did some recon:

Drive up Peshekee Grade rd 4 miles to Dishno rd. Drive east on Dishno 1/3 mile and there is a plowed area that will fit (3) large rigs. Head east on the sleds 1/2 mile and you are into un-plowed roads and well on your way to the good stuff.
