Trailer Woes...need your opinion

Sledbed trailer with the steel in the channel but an aluminum T-Bar ceased up over the summer. What a stupid freaking design. Now broken and drilled out..and am thinking of going with Super Clamp 2 but boy are those expensive...to outfit my 3 place open trailer it would cost the price of a 3 dayer in Mercer.

Now looking for the crank handle to make it a little easier on myself but cannot seem to find it in 5/8" only in 1/2". Any ideas??

Thanks,
John

I quit using the crank handles years ago. I only use stainless steel bolts. Main reason I started doing this was to prevent premature thread wear due to the side to side motion the crank handles cause when taking in and out. Bolts are cheap. I just leave a socket in the truck. Use anti sieze on the bolts also.

dairy 6134,
I think you are saying you need a 5/8 diam bolt to use for the ski hold downs now? If so I had a similar problem last year. Went to the hardware and bought 5/8" threaded rod, cut off the handles from the 1/2" hold downs and welded them onto the 5/8" threaded rod. Worked out good, and I use anti seize on them often now.

"V" or "T" handle cranks work so much better than the "L" shape. Highlands Yamaha in Countryside, Illinois sells them right behind the front counter. And keep the threads coated with grease or never seize.
