Trails around the Twin Cities

Are the trails even open/rideable around the cities? Will be up there on the 30th, and a little snow is forecasted. Don't know what to expect.

Thanks in advance

Put a couple hundred miles on out of Hastings Friday and Tuesday this past week. Grooming has started most places, plowed fields a little thin except south of Hastings. If we get just a couple more inches, without a warmup, things will be pretty decent everywhere to the south.

Thanks for the heads up. Hastings would be doable. I'll check in again next week and see how they are doing. The wife is going shopping in the twin cities for the day and I'm scratching my snow itch. All I need is rideable, but the more snow the better.

Thanks again.

Any reviews on the Hudson WI area? I would rather get back in Wisconsin and ride and it's only 20 min from the Twin Cities. Snow looks rideable at best but a few inches on the way before next Saturday.

Thanks again.

Rode part of the Star Trail last night. North of Rte 36, Stillwater, MN. We have had a couple of inches of snow over the last week and this helped a lot. Trial was rideable, but if any traffic and it won't be good. Good base if we could just get 3-6 inches of new snow. Depending on area- some of the field crossings in the north had quite a few bald spots.

Where are you dumping the little woman to go shopping? East side of town/St. Paul? Go to Sconnie. Mall of America? Go to Hastings/Inver Grove park and ride, and ride south. Just my .02

Edit: Actually, the Inver Grover park and ride is probably closer to St. Paul as well. But if you have a thing for Sconnie, go for it.

We're staying somewhere Friday night and I'm taking off from the hotel and she is driving wherever to go shopping. She said under a half hour to the mall is my perimeter. Hudson, WI and ride east into WI is sounding like the best bet as of now. Hopefully they get some more snow or it might be a no go.
