Trails look pretty darn good yet, up by Dave and Lori's cabins anyway!

I think they survived the last warm-up nicely by the looks of the ribbon at the trail cam!

I was thinking the same thing, but then again, you never really see that spot get too rough. I've never seen it look like the trail between Twin Lakes and Toivola last Friday afternoon/early evening, that's for sure. I've never noticed more than a few inch chop in that section. It does give me the itch though!

UUUUMMM conditions of the trail from Twin Lakes to Toivola rough, couldn't be , ( just a wise crack remark)would love to have the counter moved to the middle of that section of trail,it is now the express way of the "Yoop", not sure why : ) ?.Have observed same groups of riders back and forth, back and forth, ((MUST BE HOW THEY ADD UP 300 MILES A DAY: ) )on our freshly groomed ribbon well into the early hours of the morning, even though the crew is now doing a extra run mid day on the weekends so that most can get back to their destinations, the guys/gals have tried to time their runs after the bars close, but everyone loves to hit that fresh ribbon, so it really never does get to set up. The club members even groom it before 7 a.m. so everyone can start their day off with a fresh trail. REALIZE THAT THAT RUN FROM TWIN lAKES TO TOIVOLA IS A AVERAGE 4 HOUR RUN MIN.

Lori,

I wasn't complaining about the trail, just stating that area by the Trail cam doesn't get the bumps as bad. I should have gone on to explain that all areas with low speed and/or stop signs and road crossings don't get near as bumpy. It's due to acceleration and speed. Have you ever noticed when you pull away from a stop sign that the right side of the trail is much rougher than the left? It's because of the acceleration on the right side and the left side is better due to sleds slowing down. I find myself jumping to the left side of the trail after a stop sign for a smoother ride.

My point was that section (Trail cam) of trail was pretty smooth at the same time the TL to Toivola trail had 1-2 foots moguls. I'm sure they were groomed the same amount, had similar amounts of traffic, it's just that slower speeds, as required near the Trail cam, result in less bumps.

Just giving the heads up as to why the trail is bumpy in that area as well as other high traffic areas, you are right the stop and go = trenches especially at stop signs.( right Deb, she's guilty of hammering the throttle at take off, Dave always kids her he's looking for driver's like her, when out grooming). I am surprised how well the trail does stay intacted by the trail cam, and actually through town. But my point was in a kidding mannor the trail between TL and Toivola gets excessively more traffic because of how often the businesses in that area are frequented over and over or should I say back and forth , back and forth. (The bar stools get more riding time then the sleds, hee hee : )
