trash compactor

I tell you what, I have never been so happy now that my garbage is manageable. We are a family of 6 and have a fair amount of garbage and as far as I can remember back, garbage has been a real bummer. My kids did a poor job of tying up garbage bags and the bulk of it was a real mess even in garbage cans in the garage. Recently, I picked up an old trash compactor for free and man does it work well. I don't buy special bags but do double op on the bags because they do become heavy. We do not throw stinky or potential stinky stuff in it but rather throw it in a separate bag and the compactor bag now doesn't have to be changed now for a week. I do not accumulate a mountain of bulky, maggot pouring out, stench like hideous piles. I know this system does not work for everyone but it sure does for us and no more headaches for Lenny concerning garbage!

if you only knew how many maggots poured down my arms and on my feet you would seriously be happy for me. How much swill in the bottom of the cans poured out in the back of my truck and how my stench I have sniffed over the years. I should have a friggin party because of this compactor. It's life changing people. The president should mandate one for every home or go to jail for a year!

Lord, don't give him any ideas.... Ya, you can keep your present compactor if you wish unless it's a "non approved government compactor". If that's the case you'll be assessed a fee, er tax, or whatever.

I'm happy for you too, Lenny but let's keep the government out of our garbage, it smells bad enough already.

speaking of garbage, did you know that if you signed up for obama care you also agree to giving 5% of the sale of your home when you sell? Not sure if it's true but I have a family member who did so and this info is right from him, didn't seem to bother him to much.

Lenny stinky stuff gets composted,bottles, cans, glass, plasitic, paper gets recycled for free that leaves snot rags stuff like that for garbage. My problem is accumlation of scrap metal 1 year then Phelps free dumpster day. Coming up North most people have no idea that we don't carry garbage cans out to the curb for pick up & have to deal with disposal ourselves. Your compactor is sweeeeet but still have to deal with disposal.

I do still deal with disposal but while I accumulate the garbage it is much more compact and manageable which is a huge plus for me. Since I am a general contractor I am going to the dump fairly often and my garbage goes right with me so it's not a big deal. The big deal is now I have a problem resolved and it was a simple compactor, I love it!

Ever thought about separately bagging the stinky stuff like chicken bones, fish parts, meat wrappers etc... & freezing them until garbage day? Works great, no stinky garbage.-Mezz

nope, with 4 kids and a small freezer, every square inch is valuable. Now with the compactor I bag the stinky separately and in double plastic walmart bags and it works well

I get what Lenny is saying here.....accumulation & dispsoal of trash takes effort up North but some of the comments are funny too.:)
