TreadLightly Organization?

I'm in need of new tires for my truck, and there is a rebate I'd like to take advantage of. However, you have to be a member of the TreadLightly organization (http://www.treadlightly.org/). I've done some research and can't find where they are one of those "wolves in sheeps clothing" - stating they are helping outdoor enthausists while they lobby against our rights.

Does anyone know anything about this organization?

I believe they are very active in keeping trails and such open with a huge emphasis on responsible use, Enjoy the land but leave as little trace behind as possible.

I've heard of them and would be interested in hearing more about them.

Blue Ribbon Coalition is a great group to be a member of.

As they say, Tread Lightly! is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote responsible outdoor recreation through ethics education and stewardship.
They are not a bunch of tree huggers, who want to take all our recreation rights away. Just want to promote a common sense approach to preserving and using our resources. And, hopefully avoid give the "greenies" more ammunition to use to close the trails and forests which we want to use.
Their web site is pretty straight forward on their intentions. Basically, responsible use of the outdoors. Maybe a review of their website would be more informative: http://www.treadlightly.org
