truck runs hot

I realize this is a bit off topic but the truck hauls sleds............
1983 Ranger, 2.8 engine started running hot; changed thermostat, water pump, drilled small hole in thermostat so it could burp and cussed it a fair amount. Still runs hot. No antifreeze odor in the exhaust, nothing in the oil.........any ideas????

Vote 2 for corroded radiator. Two choices - Try one of the $5 bottles of cleaner (not that great) or put a new radiator in it (best long term solution).

get some ice scratchers. I hear the SlideKicks are great. might scratch up your rocker pannels a little though....

oh, but seriously, maybe you were one of the people that mixed green anti-freeze with the orange stuff???? cuz apparantly that is bad news..... sorry couldn't resist that one either.

well, for real though, hope you get it figured out. are you sure you have flow? maybe the water pump is out. If you run it when it's cold, and keep the cap open, you should be able to see when the thermostat opens and the coolant flows. If you don't, then perhaps it's the water pump.
