Twin Lakes or Houghton

Just wondering how the warm up effected the base. I ride mostly off trail and wanted to come up next week if it is still rideable. Thanks for any input.

Between Twin Lakes & Houghton is a lot of snow yet. Up until the warm up last week, Twin Lakes had had 145 official inches snow and we've probably lost about a foot. Temps are colder and more snow has been predicted so if we get the snow that will make it a lot of fun with that base under it.

The trails of Superior Snowmobile Club had plenty enough snow before the January thaw arrived that we are still with plenty of snow on the trails. Biggest problem was the temps-not getting cold enough at night to groom-trail traffic was down so that also helped. Last couple days cold enough to groom so we're playing catch up and the colder is helping to hold the trails better after grooming. Snow depth is less down around Rockland, but still all rideable. (slick on corners) Now, we are ready for the rest of winter.

Same thing up here. Back to grooming after thaw. Snow is rather rounded over, so will not hold a groom as well as fresh, but some fresh looks to be on the way. Streets are currently bare, but see the part about some fresh snow on the way.

I guess the bottom line is, if you are looking for perfect, wait. If you just want to ride and are looking for enough snow. Plenty from at least Twin Lakes north. Have not been south.
