We stayed at Superior Shores. It was great and trail went right by parking lot.

AmericInn, right on the trail, reasonable, pool/hot tub, breakfast. You can go anywhere from there on a nice one day ride too.

Look up devils track, a little further north but worth it.

2X on the AmericInn. We have stayed there many times, there is a spur trail at the end of the parking lot that make it east to get to the NSST.
