5 of us coming up Sunday, want to start by Land O' Lakes or Watersmeet and ride to Sidnaw then take 8 over by Marquette and up to Big Bay then to Baraga up to Chassell. Hoping to jump on Portage lake and run to Houghton then up to Copper Harbor and then work are way back down to Mass City over to Ontonagon to Bergland and take Lake Gogebic down and go into Marenisco back to Watersmeet area. Hoping with the fresh snow the plans will be o.k. Any trail conditions information would be greatly appreciated so we can change plans if needed. Thanks in advance.

Hard to say right now but we got 6+ from L'anse Baraga up through Chassell last night. My kid said Painesdale has more than that. Should take care of the Ice as it is heavy snow and should be groomable.

On Saturday, Feb. 17 (about 1 week ago), I was based out of Land O lakes. Rode 3 N to watersmeet, 2 E towards Iron River, 15N to Sidnaw, 8W to Kenton, 107S to Watersmeet, 3S back to Land O Lakes. Everything was excellent, except for trail 2, from Watersmeet lasting 3-5 miles east, would rate as good. Just due to lower snow cover in the tree covered grade, just a bit of gravel and sand mixed in with the snow. Could be better after the recent (and potentially upcoming) snowfalls. This is only the starting portion of your described loop.

Probably see you guys up there. We are doing basically the same areas.
Have not done the BB run this year yet. Snow was hit and miss most of the trips this year in between.

Last week, rode most of the areas you asked about and wiharley02 is right on with his report. Conditions were definitely doable. More snow will make them better.

Just got back from doing almost all that and more , DO IT ...... All trails were the best all year and new snow again this morning, was hard as heck to leave this afternoon.

So 5 of us made our trip and overall it was awesome. We started in Watersmeet on Sunday and rode trail 2 to 107 up to Kenton then 8 to Sidnaw and continued on 8 past Michigamme to trail 5. Ran trail 5 up to 14 and went to Big Bay where we spent our first night at Big Bay motel. (150 miles) Day 2 we left Big Bay and ran 14 west over to Baraga and got on trail 15 and went north to Chassell. From Chassell we ran Portage Lake up to Houghton and got on trail 3 and rode up to Copper Harbor. From there we rode the 134 loop back around to trail 3 and went south down to trail 17 through Calumet and back to 3 in Houghton/Hancock. Continued south on 3 down to Twin Lakes where we spent our 2nd night at Krupp's resort. (250 miles) Day 3 (our last day) we left Twin Lakes and got on trail 13 and rode down to Rockland and continued on 13 down to trail 101. Not quite ready to give up yet we took 101 to trail 12 and went west over to trail 1 by White Pine and rode 1 south to the Hoop on Lake Gogebic. We then rode the lake down to the Gogebic Lodge and got back on trail 1 south to Marenisco and caught trail 2 and rode that east back into Watersmeet. (140 miles) We ended our trip with 540 miles and other than a couple short stretches of rough trail (probably less than 10 miles total) the trails were awesome. Thank You to all business's, clubs and of course groomer operators that make those trails so great to ride. We had a blast. Thank's again.
