U.P. Phone Calling Problems

Good Friends, return guests and persistent people have said when calling us they couldn't get through but kept trying because they knew we were here.

There is a huge problem with the phone service in the area and it is taking numerous calls at times to get thru.

Myself and a friend have filed complaints with the FCC and since Jan 2015 they have been "working" on the problem. This could be affecting thousands of business across the U.P. Other business owners are starting to come forward and say they are having the same problem. I contacted TV6 new out of Marquette this morning and they are now investigating and hopefully the problem will be looked more seriously .

I am crushed to think the business we in the U.P. could be losing. If you enjoy the U.P. and you call a business and you don't get thru the first time do NOT assume that they have gone out of business, please try calling back a few times before giving up, then PLEASE REPORT problems to your phone company and the FCC

I currently have an issue with my home phone, started out last night, progressively got worse with static, this morning, no go. I had an issue last week here at the office with one of my 3 lines, fortunately, they were able to busy out the main line so other calls would forward. Fortunately, AT&T was able to fix it four hours later. Unfortunately, not happening with my home phone, from what AT&T said, they won't be able to get anybody to me until Sunday (Easter)!! I spoke with the line technician & he advised me that there are some fiber optic issues locally due to 2 things, an outdated cable & water infiltration. Perhaps a larger scale problem? Nonetheless, very frustrating.-Mezz
