Nick Baumgardner of Iron River, MI finally got his Gold in the Snowboard X! What a finish!!! The guy had just had surgery on his collar bone 12 day's ago which included a plate & 15 screws. Congrats!!
Also, I believe to be more than noteworthy, I'm not sure why there isn't any publicity on this, another U.P. athlete, I believe from Ironwood, MI,
19 y/o Kyle Pallin (pronounced Palleen) qualified for the Snowcross finals beating out many top names, some of those whom did not even get in on the last chance qualifier (LCQ). Pallin is a semi-pro snowcross racer & this was his first invite to Winter X who battled for third & ended the finals in fourth place! No metal, but, alot of respect was earned & notoriety. Congratulations to both of them, it was fun to watch.-Mezz

Nice to see the UP being represented well in a couple different sports at X-Games. Kyle Pallin is from Ironwood, MI., and hopefully his strong showing (finishing just out of the medals) will land him some more sponsorships. Congrats to both athletes!!
