What would be the furthest point south / east in the Western UP that one could park and drop to access the trails and rideable snow this weekend? Planning a day trip tomorrow and any info., suggestions would be appreciated. Will be approaching from the south, southeast. Thanks.

From whatever everyone is saying it looks like the Keweenaw is the place to be.

Keewenaw is the place to be.
UP livin' is the life for me.
Snow spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that Copper Country side.
Sorry, I couldn't find a picture of ol' Oliver Wendell Douglas (Eddie Albert) on a snowmobile to go along with the above lyrics!

Well at least we have Green Acres Road in Houghton. No snow, though.

Houghton is as far south as you will be able to ride. Decent snow north of that. Also, the bridge is closed until the 16Th, so you will only be able to ride north. I would drop at the ramada hotel(Next to M&M power sports) and hop on the trail. let us know how it goes.

I wouldn’t park at the Ramada. I stopped by the other day and asked if I could park there. They said the parking lot is for guests only, need to have a room there or you could end up getting towed.

Snow is decent to Mass City. South range area 2 feet on trail edges
