Update or sell/trade in??? Please help with your thoughts.

Sledders-

I would love some advice...My debate is sell/trade in or add some money to current sled. Thinking of buying new 2013 sled.

I have a 2009 Polaris IQ ES with 5300 miles on it. Just studded (96 studs) this January. Full maintenance records from shop, etc. I have it up for sale at $4500. Obviously, no one is looking until next November.

Should I just put aftermarket items into sled...stage two kit..fancy skis, etc? Or Just put new rings/basic replacements into engine.

Will my sled sell next Fall as is?

Thank you for reading and would appreciate your thoughts.

I would think it depends on how much you like your current machine. The mileage is right around the tipping point of either keeping it and riding it into the ground or selling it while there's still some value to put toward a new one. If you keep it, the maintenace costs are going to start adding up but there are a lot of machines with more miles still running out there. It kind of depends on your maintenance habits and the condition of your sled.

Assuming you sell or trade, you'll need approximately another $4,000+ to move into 2013, is there anything else you'd like to spend that 4G on?

Probably more questions than answers for ya and I'm sure others will have thoughts too. Enjoy the process with either the upgrades or searching for your new 2013. It's all good!

Hummertime, I too am asking myself the very same question. I've decided I'm going to sell my 2008 Dragon 700 with 4,000 miles. And I'll be picking up a left over 12 Switchback 600. There are some GREAT deals to be had on leftovers right now.......$8200 for the one I'm getting out the door. Take advantage of the leftovers and the 0-0-0 till January, 2013. Thats my .02!!

Rakins800-Great price for the Switchback. There are some great left over deals which are very tempting...probably makes my sled even harder to sell next season. I need to sell before I buy new again.
Gary-I agree I am at a major point on my sled. I just need to stop reading and looking at the new sleds....Thank you for the responses
