Our thanks for trail work was purposely delayed so we could update you on this week's progress on our newest groomer barn.
First, many-many thanks to so many of you that came to help on our many projects we had this year. Some of you arrived Wed. nite while others arrived Thur., or Fri., or Sat. Some worked all 3 days while others worked 1 or 2. This thank you extends to all-some drove quite a distance, some live locally, some were club members and others were not club members but came to help for the love of snowmobiling. It was all very much appreciated. A smaller bridge needed totally rebuilt, 2 reroutes needed done due to logging-this meant a lot of tree cutting, brushing, digging post holes and putting signs on the posts. Other signs on our trails had to be replaced due to damage from a variety of reasons, and brushing needed to be done on other trails. Some projects were also accomplished at our new groomer barn in Twin Lakes. This groomer barn and the groomer barn in Greenland are possible due to our groomer operators being volunteers. Besides being volunteers, they do an excellent job.
We had a tremendous turn out-total of 54 joined at the Saturday nite cook-out. Our thanks to Wildlife Refuge Cabins, Mosquito Inn and Krupp's Resort for donating lodging. Food for the trail lunches Thursday and Friday were, Mosquito Inn, Parkview Lodge, Mrs. Novak and Krupp's Mini-Mart. Krupp's Resort provided food for the cook-out and thanks also to Wildlife Refuge for their food additions and to beer Belly Bob for his beverage donation.
At the cook-out, everyone wore a tag with their real name, where from and their johndee name. It was fun for all to put a face with a name.
A big thanks also to all who donated equipment-post hole digger, trucks, trailers, backhoe, etc.
I'm sure, by now, many of you have seen pics posted, working on trail projects and of course the playtime in the mud. Those involved must have ordered the rain we received on Wed-it gave them every reason and challenge to find those mud holes to see who could wear the most mud.
The update on the groomer barn-the septic & drain Field installed and approved. Electricity is also completed. Propane tank has arrived. Our groomer operators will think they died and went to heaven-sure will make it more enjoyable for the guys doing groomer maintenance & repair.
Now, we'll wait for the crew north of here to get their trail work done in a couple weeks, give time to the deer hunters and then we can all start our "think snow"

Mike, it was great to meet you and the others that came to help with the trail cleanup/re-route's. I enjoyed being on your crew both Friday and Saturday (cause thats where the mud was). It was a pleasure to do my part for your club and I look forward to doing it again next year. Thanks to all for your food/beverage donations and the great times and snowmobile stories. See ya when the snow flies...
