Rode a little bit on Thursday and then again today. 70W, to 7 N, 10 E. Up to Hillside, halfway to St. Germain, starting about 5 miles west of ER, about a 3-4 inch base. When you get a bit farther north toward Hillside the snow is a bit deeper, but there's rocks clanking off your carbides and trails are hammered. ER did the best they could last night with limited snow, so hats off to them, but we need snow. I went half way to St. on 70W, where it splits from 7N. Hitting rocks for a couple of miles, I turned back. Don't need it right now. My sleds are both running fine and started on 3rd pull, both Pro-R 6 and Pro-S 8, after sitting for 6+ months. Damn good sleds but they were stored right last spring. Sled motors love this cold weather, running 123-127, just perfect, but we need snow so I'll be back in 2-3 weeks. It's been 15-27 below every night for a week, so we got good base, nice and frozen. Little bit of snow last couple of days, but nothing significant, maybe 1-2 inches max. Every little bit helps but we need 6-8 and we'll be in business. Lake effect right now, just as I put my sled away - figures, but very light.
