Vilas Fall Color

No one has asked this year but thought I would chime in. PI reported 80%and I would guess Phelps is between 50-60% which covers east and west Vilas. If interested in Vilas peak color it will be close by next weekend. Phelps has lots of maples so lots of red this year which is very beautiful and seems to be different every year. Last year was dominant yellow this year not so much. Come and enjoy Cranberry Fest next weekend.

Well if my sled would show up at Kip's I would love to catch the color. Or at least my wife would. Don't know when that will be so we will see. Amazing being in the North woods when the colors are at peak. Big picture on my garage wall of copper harbor with peak colors on top of mt Bohemia. Awesome.

It’s peak color for sure in Phelps all downhill from here.

Yup was great color early in week. Visted Oneida, Vilas and Iron counties. Only thing missing was sunshine!!

Yep you have to get used to the lack of sunshine at times up here. Superior influences the area big time whencold air passes over the warm water but it is a good thing in winter for LES and cloud shields that prevents sun melting snow covered roads.

Get your rakes, blowers and chain saws ready 40+mph winds coming thru Thursday along with giant waves on Superior and cold air. Sounds intense like storms of November. These blows are tough on Vilas too but good for stocking up firewood. Lol

Big drop today with lots of wind and flurries. Very wet and cold can’t do much about fallen leaves today and hope to get on it soon in warmer and dryer weather.

Yeah I'm hoping for a bit of a warm up and dry down.

I hear ya one of my worst drives ever yesterday to Greenland thru BC to Mass City detour with a quick 5 inch dump. Luckily I was first behind the county plow or I would need to pull off coming that intense. So wet around here and Big Snow! Bummer!
