This is rental sled early season trails they’ll luv it only bar to bar riding anyway. My buds still parked may ride FRs but not trails yet. It will get better with more snow currently vintage and old air indys will do fine no club saying it’s great yet very early season conditions.

I remember years of horrible trails till mid Jan were open but horrible. Crap one year in the 2000’s was riding atvs on lake with like 2-3’ of ice no sledding snow was that bad

Vilas lives off small clippers and spotty LES sometimes a few times a week. Groomers or so good in Vilas an inch of snow can help a lot. This year where are clippers and LES???

I believe szotty may be talking more about damage to private property then the sleds but I could be wrong. I know in St.Germain there is more then a few trails on private property. When we went out brushing this year we rode with the president of our club and he was saying how it would be impossible to get all the trails we have today if they were just starting a trail system. A lot of trails are grandfathered in.

I'd love to go for a blast, but that last "storm" it snowed all day for a grand settled total of around 3".
I don't believe the trails have any sort of base, with about 6-7" of powdery, low moisture snow that won't groom. The good news is, there's ice on the lakes with sleds and atv's out there.

The lakes actually look pretty good with enough snow to cool but not so much that they are rough.

Trails took a beating today. Lots of traffic. We did a loop from Conover to Boulder and back. And then down to Eagle River. Snow is really thin at Eagle river. Star and Plum lake had plenty of ice and were marked. There were some slushy spots. It was a good day for a ride but I don’t think the trails will fare well by the end of Sunday.

They already have not fare to well. Lots of dirt in spots the lakes are your best riding. We rode in St.Germain and Arbor Vitae the fr trails were ok and the lakes are real good besides that dirt showing up everywhere. The trails need a lot more snow.

Went st germain to conover up to Lando then across to boulder and home threw star lake/ Sayner lots of dirt And rough but all in all was better than sitting at home. But need good 6” of wet heavy snow to pack with to get a base. it was super busy out

Did over 300 miles in the Vilas and Iron county area. Some was really good then turned bad quick. But would do it again if they get more snow if they dont then do not waste your time going.
