I had a SledGPS chip but they are no longer. Checked around and decided to go with VV. $40 for the snomo chip and $60 ($65?) for the combo snomo/ATV....great price IMO. Plus they send out updates 3X per year (season?) and they are free for the first year. Then next year, pay $10 and they'll send you another year of updates.

I like the details on the map as well as the routing option. Yes, I found a few errors but working with Jeramey at VV and showing him what's there or not there, the changes will be made on the next release. Jeramey has been great to work with, a comment that many others have made.

Also, for you groomer operators or club directors, check out their "free GPS for groomers" program. They'll send you a GPS system for you to run in your groomer. It will memorize the routes and when you're done, you either send the chip back to VV or they will help you upload the data. Then you get to KEEP the GPS setup for FREE. How can any club go wrong?

I see that maps on the MI snomo site in many areas of the UP seem to be based on VV Mapping info.

I have heard lots of good things about Red Pine but have not used or know anybody that used their maps.

^^ This.

I have been using red pine for 4-5 years now. They r good maps but i have not got the update the last
couple years and know my version does not have all the trails or new rerouts on it.
I always run my road map over it so you can tell were your at. Nothings better then a old fashion paper
map when all else falls.
I still always come home with a couple maps in my coat pocket!!
I don't know but red pine was a sponsor for john at one time.
