Just took a short ride to check out our trails that we are responsible for. Rode down Drumlin east towards trailhead at Wales and then back to Trail 16 north from Dousman to Oconomowoc where it meets turns west toward Concord. Trails in early season riding condition but OK. Some signs down, look like an aggressive rider just rode right over one, (Will be pounding a few stakes this afternoon) typical riding outside the markers trail but not too bad:cold:I've seen better responsible riding in the last few years in our area. Picture is just west of HWY C along the Drumlin. Best ride today Sunday 1/3 as it has been decided that the trails will close on Monday 1/4 at 6am due to incoming warm weather.

I used to ride from Elkhorn to the Drumlin in the late 90s with my 99 Mach fun trail to rip back then not much traffic. I remember eating a sandwich at a bar /grill in Cottage Grove with 2 fried eggs and 2 cheese burgers. I can’t believe I ate stuff like that back then. Lol I think the name of the place was cubbie something? Hopefully the Drumlin doesn’t have speed limits out of towns in town we went very slowly 20ish didn’t want to piss anyone off.

I as well stopped eating stuff like when I had 4 stents inserted 11 years ago, feel fine now. The Drumlin has changed a lot since then as some of it is now paved in our area so we had clear and run the trail next to the bike trail so all the studded sleds can't tear up the asphalt. It works good and our club does the maintenance now for the DNR for that section. Speed limits are enforced in the areas where it goes through towns but when you get out of town it is a race track. It gets worn down to gravel west of Sullivan unless a good base can be laid. It is actually more fun to dump off the Drumlin and head either north or south, lots great trails down here if we get snow. I have the best of both worlds as we have our place in Manitowish Waters and there is usually snow (Very thin so far this year). we are planning on moving up full time this coming year some time.

We have managed to hold on to a lot of our snow and base over the last 5 days. The cloudy, foggy, freezing fog every morning has greatly helped us out with this. Trails in our area remain CLOSED at this time. The trails actually look pretty good although there are sections that they are down to dirt. If we actually were to receive a few inches I think that could open again as it looks like temps are actually going to cool down next week. Pray for snow!
