Where in central WI? From experience may I suggest you go to the Keweenaw. Mercer/Hurley is a wonderful area but has lots of lowlands that can be extremely wet and muddy in the early season. Although it may be tightening up with all this cold. It can take longer than you think though as the snow insulates the water below. Keweenaw is mostly RR grades and high land - very little water holes.

Two of us are heading up Friday from South East Michigan cutting through Wisconsin. We're staying in Houghton. We only ride trails to get to the powerlines or good off trail spots.

I am staying at the Ramada. If I goI would be up for joining you - although I am a little worried about streams rocks and stumps this early....

We love off trail but a little nervous this early. Look for me in my rasta hat - say hello! I will be a black Renegade with orange ski loops riding with a 2015 Viper (rental from M&M)

Okay. We stay at the Ramada every time so probably will this time. We have a black f250 with a sled deck on it. A yellow skidoo and a black skidoo

Well all tell us how it was up there?

For being the first weekend of December it was awesome. The trails did have a few bare spots but only in town. We did powerlines most of the time and they were great too. Definitely glad we went.
