UW-Madison published an article in Nature Geoscience that states wind speeds on Lake Superior have risen about 5% per decade since 1985, possibly attributed to the rising water temperatures. If this trend continues upward, would this possibly mean more lake effect snow for the favorable snowbelt regions? A summary of the article is here:
