Warmer Lake Superior will yield more lake effect snow?

UW-Madison published an article in Nature Geoscience that states wind speeds on Lake Superior have risen about 5% per decade since 1985, possibly attributed to the rising water temperatures. If this trend continues upward, would this possibly mean more lake effect snow for the favorable snowbelt regions? A summary of the article is here:

The increase in winds would not really increase the LES that occurs, might even decrease the amount of snows. The warmer lake could, but would mainly impact early season snows (Nov-Dec).
