warning on trail in UP

for those that may not have ridden in the UP this year and are still planning to, we encountered a very large number of deer standing on and traveling down trails, Just beware of this and pay attention to peripheral vision as well because where there was one there were more times than not many more.

We saw 25-30 deer around Bruce Crossing last weekend. We slowly crept up to 1 group on trail 8 just west of hwy 45 and 28. They 6 of them bounded through the ditch out onto 28.
Headed north on 3? Towards Rockland/Mass there was a another group of 5 the adults went into the woods, 2 babys wouldn't jump off into the deep. I was lead I came to complete stop so they could rejoin mom and others.
There were MANY other deer we saw as we were coming from Baraga.
My riding partner said he lost count at around 45 deer he spotted. He's big on looking for wildlife while we're riding

We have lots more snow than normal this year, and the deer in the corn stubble fields are insane. I've never seen this many. Nearly plugged a couple tonight.

Seen lots on 16 & 113 getting in and out of crystal falls last week. Only going to increase as more snow piles up.

You should also consider looking for the occasional stop sign as well.

Deer like easy pathways. Snow trails fit the bill.

Spent the past week in Munising, rode all directions and ended up with 950 miles for the week. We saw 1 group of 6-8 deer in a clearing and that was it for the entire trip.

They tend to move to the southern U.P. for the winter....usually not an issue for people who stay in the northern portion...
