12/31 & 1/1- Report (over 200 miles both days combined)
- All trails were excellent, mostly just groomed & we were first sleds on almost every trail. Very few sleds encountered anywhere...think most thought there was very little snow in the area which is not the case. We rode out of Minong Flowage, so we rode trails 3, 5(by Gordon), Corridor 35 heading North(excellent but boring), 4(towards Brule), 27(from Brule going South), 7 back towards Gordon. Every trail was excellent, but 27 is just a great ride everytime(by far one of the best).
1/2- Report(180 miles)
- Took 8E towards Hayward/Seeley, then 8/31 into Seeley(again, just groomed and first sleds, great ride, excellent condition most of trail). 63(in Seeley) had very little snow but once outside town heading North, good snow again. Rode 8, then 57 towards Cable(mostly decent snow) but trais in this area are not marked well(IMO). Headed to Drummond, again, difficult to find way(poorly marked trails). Not much open for restaurants in either Cable/Drummond during weekday. From Drummond, rode 7W to Barnes(great ride, again just groomed, plenty of snow), then to Gordon(all great snow/just groomed trails). Think we saw 6 sleds all day
By far snow belt is Minong to Barnes to Cable and only better as you go North from there. South of that line has very little snow.
