Trail Truth Sat Feb 3rd

Rode trail 3n from Land O' Lakes to Watersmeet.......they got an "F"........trail was the worst and the bridges were actually "dangerous"!!
On Saturday the same trail was only fair, and the bridges, still, rougher than rough! This trail is normally our 1st and last trail on trips and its been a disaster for the last 3 years. Trail 2w was better, yeah they need snow, but they need to grind out the diggers and grinders.

I agree 100 percent, dont understand what is going on with that 10 mile stretch this year, other years was always great but this year is awful, and there has been plenty of snow on it each time we were on it this year. Whitedust do you have any idea why this section is so badly taken care of this year?

all of Wi and IL are riding there, trail 8 in BC too......no way to keep the minimal snow on those sections,...... being tree-covered does not help, either.......
the open areas are better,; 3S Watersmeet to Lando ......maybe Mrs Running Bear can offer some input.......?

So the trail is not badly taken care of, it's groomed everyday. Believe me it just as hard on the drivers as it is on the riders so they do everything they can with that trail not to have it rough but the amount of riders is unreal this year! You can cross over US45 heading south on trail 3 and before you get to Lando which takes 2 hours the drivers are counting over 150 sleds it's impossible to keep the trail set. We really only have a 10" -12" base so not as much snow as you may think. Doesn't matter if it's groomed at 2am or 2pm the amount of riders going up and down that trail is crazy. Next year we will have a trail counter on that trail (thanks to MI-TRALE)and I'm sure the numbers will be shocking

I have been staying away from Watersmeet this year...tuff season for them toooo much traffic on 3 and logging on 107 so I have been on FRs but logging on them too. Not a lot one can do but grin and bear it or fine alternates on the map. Maybe snow in southern WI will help ease the traffic crunch.
