Took a quick ride this afternoon. Left Dousman, west on Drumlin to Helenville, south to Hebron, onto Cold Spring, just north of Whitewater and over to KM Forest trails which were very nice and scenic, over to Eagle and back up to Palmyra, on up to Sullivan and east back to Dousman. Quick 75 miles of awesome trails, better get some while this lasts as I see a 38 next Tuesday. The Sun is high in the high and was burning through a couple spots today at 18 degrees.

Pic is in the KM State Forest.

Great ride isn't it!? Most of those Kettle Moraine trails are going to be good for a while in the shaded woods.

RS

Yes, haven't been in the forest for awhile but with the new snow it was nice. They have really cleared and brushed those trails out over the years. Our club in Dousman helped brush the northern part a few years ago and it really needed it. Great new signage and arrows as well. Heading north into Dodge today.

Hopefully someone can reply as I am lucky enough to ride right out of my garage and don't have to trailer. Not sure where you are coming from and what area you want to ride?

Where would you recommend dropping to ride in that area with a fairly large trailer (27')

We've dropped at trailhead south of delafield. Ella's public house, think they asked for $5 to park and or patronize them, had some good grub.

Yes, Ellas is located just west of the intersection of Hwy 18 and Hwy 83 in Wales, WI.
From there you head west on the Drumlin and out into Waukesha, Jefferson, Dodge to the north.

Google search Kettle Moraine Ranch Eagle, WI. Large parking lot across the street owned by the DNR for horse trailer parking or snowmobile trailer parking. Trail runs right there can head north to Eagle South west to Whitewater. OR there is another similar parking lot just west of La Grange off HWY 12 by Robinhood Ln. on north side of hwy 12 near Whitewater Lake Trail run to Whitewater lake then can take that all the way on state land to eagle, etc.

RS

Ran this loop today. It was only about 43 miles but was pretty decent. Found a small boat launch was okay. If I do it again I wouldn't head east as it was mostly corn fields but kettle moraine was nice I'd like to spend some more time in there.

Next time try this to avoid corn fields park just west of Lagrange in lot by Hwy 12. This is a poor drawing but real good ride haha. Best part is after trails close this week which they likely will you can still ride kettle moraine state forest. It should be good for a while yet even with warmer temps with shade from trees.

RS

We Ran KM Friday. Trails were awesome to the south, lots of high speed fields and going through the Turtle Valley Wildlife area in a few spots before hitting the KM make it a nice mix of trails.

Wonder how long those woods will hold up to this heat. I know KM state trails you can ride anytime even if the county trails are closed. Would be curious to maybe check this feature out later this week if they aren't falling apart. I would imagine the woods are still pretty nice. Could be some nice sweatshirt riding weather! If anyone is out and has a report please let me know.

RS

With these temps and Saturday being 50 degrees they'll be toast by Sunday.

was a great year. four straight Friday and Saturday's of great riding. Especially the last 3 Friday's the trails were absolutely mint.
