Weather and the Commodities Market

What kind of work does a meteorologist have to do when the commodities market is open for electronic business on Thanksgiving evening? Does it have anything to do with the custom forecasting that is mentioned in your bio? I didn't realize how many different aspects there are to your job. Happy Thanksgiving!

Davis-

I provide custom weather forecasts to traders in the agricultural and energy commodities markets. My forecasts are world wide for anywhere things like corn, soybeans and wheat are grown as well as nationally for the energy markets. So when there is trading going on, they like to have a report from me.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Does Cargill happen to be one of your employers? I worked in their Financial Markets Group in the leasing division and there were traders all over the place in our building. Cargill was the best company I've ever worked for, first class all the way!

Actually to respect the business of my customers I do not want to get into saying who are my customers, but Cargill is not one of them.

Wow! Lot's more going on from the little cabin in the UP than the world's most popular snowmobile website.

John, I farm in central Iowa and use Mike North of First Capital Ag for services. Is it feasible or possible for a farmer to get your comments on weather through e-mail like they do? What would it take to do that?
