weather pattern change?

Hey John, Im from Northern Illinois and winter started off like a lion in December with 22 inches of snow to date ( 10 in. above normal) and excellent riding. Now bare ground with no snow in the forcast. With the strong la nina pattern, will the weather in this region likely go back to the way it was or is there indication of a very dry and cold remainder of the winter for the central midwest. Just curious on your thoughts.

Thanks for the site and all you do. I hope to move up the the UP once im done with college

There is a lot of canadian high pressure directly to the north of the midwest and that is causing storms to dive south due to the storm track so far south. I guess the high has been sitting up there since fall and hasn't budged. It is also why the southern US is so cold too. Correct me if I am wrong.
