Weather. This season could be over before it begins...

Our club has to wait for the crops to be harvested before a majority of our trails can be signed/brushed. Not to mention opened. With this weather there is going to be alot of corn standing until spring. The challenges these farmers are facing just keep stacking up. The weather is always a wild card. How about a propane shortage? Yup no gas to burn in the driers. Now they are talking about closing the Mississippi early because of the temps. So even if they found gas there would be no where to haul it. Trying to combine with snow and freezing temps sucks. Sucks bad. Sure there would be some loss leaving it stand this winter but having to figure out what to do with it this year yet would also be a losing battle. I don't ever remember seeing ZERO for a temp in the first part of november. I love winter and snow and all the things that go with it but the overall effect of this weather is going to be felt for a long long time. Long range forecast looks like winter is here for the duration. Take it or leave it. We will try to make the best of it!! IMG_20191107_065340589.jpg

I was wondering how it was going down there, even the farmers around here are hanging it up for a few days because of the snow. Hoping the temp gets into the mid 40's as predicted on Saturday to open things up again.

I heat with propane, if prices go through the roof like rhey did a few years back, our oil filled electric heaters will keep us at a balmy 58 degrees again. Lol.

Propane prices have jumped 60 cents a gallon this week. Its just a logistics problem I am told. So hopefully it will calm down. Can't you pre-book your propane in the summer Skylar?
