Web Cams

Who agrees that every web cam should have some sort of measuring stick so you can actually see the depth of the snow? I’m not complaining I am very grateful for just having such a nice cam network it would just be nice and it would not be that hard.

i agree, i have a large stick and a temp gauge. I'm in the process of setting it to snap shot, or i may get another cam for snap shot so i can keep my cam live streaming from Ironwood for family and friends.

Great idea, but not all those cams are for just snowmobilers. Some are security cams also. The Allendale cam could use a "How tall is the grass getting to be stick".

Sad and funny at the same time. Hate to admit it, but PR1 comes up with some good ones sometimes.

The snow depth stick is real plus, just for providing some perspective. CrossfireLOW took my suggestion to add a thermometer to his, which in Northern MN, is a useful piece of information.

Oh come on! you know you like me! I would like to see the Cadillac cam not blurry for once. Rumor has it they are aiming thru the dollar stores version of a "clear" plastic window kit (to prevent drafts and vision).

To be truthful, ya have to give Dave a ton of credit for his Allendale cam. he has a temp gauge you can read and extreme high hopes of getting lots of snow with his gauge going up to 3 feet. Truth of the matter is, if we get half way to the foot mark (6") Our power will go out for a week or two and you will never see it hit the 1 foot mark anyways. side note: Dave I share your dreams but did you read the Advance? the city council banned snowmobiles in our township. (we have no trail system). That one day we got a half an inch of snow some GVSU kids rode down the side walks along M-45 and the council went into action.

I do enjoy looking at the cams and do appreciate the owners/operators for sharing. I do like how same are very creative or artistic in their snow gauges and some people like to keep it simple or budget friendly and some are, lets just say are lacking....

FYI, the thermometer on my cam has been showing 5-10 degrees warmer than my more accurate, nearby wireless thermometer through this cold snap.
