Debating building a website for my copper biz

looked at Shopify but open to anything

looking to:
~tell our story
~list items for sale w pics
~accept payment/orders through site
~do basic updates myself ( new items/new pics/new prices)

for anyone that’s done this, any advice for me?

like love or not like where u did it?
what should I expect for ongoing expenses?

I realize it can vary a bunch but any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Chris, I ventured onto the www back in 07 for one of my side-hustles. I don't recall the company I went with but it was associated with the product so it had a good fit for my services. The costs were very reasonable at the time, probably less than a phone bill for monthlys. Mine was very basic, just script and photos and was easy to self-manage. Meaning updates and moving things around. Go Daddy is one of the better known providers but there's probably thousands out there by now. I'm sure others will chime in with their suggestions.
One of my "ah ha" moments was learning of the Meta Search engines, for the need for a better terminology. When someone comes looking for your product you'll need a number of targets for the search engines to find you. Simply identifying yourself as "Chris' Website" won't bring in the eyeballs. You need to register as many identifiers as you can think of. For Example; "Northern Michigan Copper Art" or "Custom Copper Art", any combination of that description that sets you apart from others. That way, Google or whatever search engine your prospectives are using will be directed to your website.
I know of several members here on JohnDee that have a lot more experience at this so hopefully you'll get some advice in finding a home for your product. Good Luck, I've seen your work and it's most impressive. Don't hesitate to share your website address when you're up and running!
