Backpacking this coming week, Marquette to Big Bay, Baraga to Greenland , Lake of Clouds, to Watersmeet . Would like to do southern loop from Watersmeet thru Amasa , Republic , Gwinn back to Marquette. Any reports on conditions east of Watersmeet toward Gwinn? That would be my area of concern. Thanks

Hello Sar,
I don't have an answer to your question but I might suggest that you turn north on Trail 3 before you get to Greenland and take it all the way north to Copper Harbor. I say this as the snow depth and quality of trail is excellent this year once you get to Twin Lakes, MI.
I have been through Houghton to Brockway MTN. three times this year and the ride is sweet, especially mid-week.

Did Chatham to Gwinn to Marquette to Big Bay today. Gwinn is very thin, almost snirt. Everywhere else was pretty good considering the temp today.
