A little late on the re-cap but here it is....

Left Lake Gogebic on Friday headed to Rockland, Greenland and TL via trail 13. Lots of fresh snow, could have used a groom in spots but will take some bumps for a foot of snow! A solid lunch at Omers before taking 3 to 12 towards Onto and White Pine. Some white out conditions but took it slow and enjoyed riding vs working. Took 1 to Bergland and 1 back down to house on LG. Fried up some walleye and grilled some steaks.

Saturday was of course chilly but we took 1S to 100 to 13S to 2E to Watersmeet. Trails were phenomenal but one sled had a secondary clutch issue that our buddy picked up and took to Timberline. He was back on the trail in 2 hours!!! Mark and crew are flat out the best! We took 107 to Kenton, 8 to Sidnaw and then 174 to 12 and Rousseau bar. Other than an overheating issue and blown belt it was great. Trail 12 to Mass was junk as was 3 until we hooked back up with 13. We hardly saw any sleds all day so that was a head scratcher. 13 back LG including a fun run down to the Root Cellar. Hopped on the lake to head home...needed to keep pinned because of slush! Lou Malnatis deep dish for dinner and plenty of booze kept us up late.

Sunday 4 out of 5 sleds started but 1 had a frozen relay. Got that squared away but man was it cold. Took 1S to Marenisco, 2 to Wakefield, past the ski hills and into Bessemer for lunch at The Pit Stop. Ripped 2 to 8 back to Gogebic before calling it a day and watching the super bowl...with wings and Portillo beef.

On Sunday, we encountered our tunnels with a ton of slush and snow pack. We caught the overheating before it got too bad...but wondering if others had the same. Perhaps the trails were too hard and flat?!?! I’m serious.

Most everything in and around Lake GoGo was perfection. Hats off to Gogebic Area Grooming, GRTA, North Country, UP Thunder Riders and Superior for the amazing experience...again!

Good report, thanks for the info! Throwing in your dinner menus was enjoyable. :) It sounds like you eat back at the house, but have you ever tried JW's BBQ and Brew in Bergland? My favorite by far!
Hey Mark...we usually have an overnight run up to Copper Harbor so we eat at the Mariner North and close down Zik's! This year with Covid, along with a guy who was hurt and did not sled back at the house, we thought it would be best to do our own thing. Plus, with seating at 25% capacity or so we were wondering about a group of 6 walking in to get a table.

We for sure need to try JW's at some point. I can imagine filling my belly with BBQ and then attempting to sled home...luckily its not that far to go!
