Western Weather Forecast

John, I really appreciate the website and have been coming here since the mid 2000’s.

My group rides out west in addition to Wisconsin and the yoop. Is there a site that you would recommend for detailed weatern weather forecasting? I guess what I’m looking for is the John Dee of the west. Have you ever thought about doing a weekly west forecast for those of us that ride out there?

It seems that the challenge is finding a site that can predict weather and snow fall based on elevation. For example Moran, WY is quite different than Togwotee lodge which is different than the pass.

I have had plans for many years to expand my forecast area beyond the Midwest, but just have not been able to free up enough time. Even if I did start forecasts for the west, to dial into individual riding areas like Togwotee would not be feasible, as that would require dozens of individual forecasts. I would only be able to give general forecasts for riding elevations in the 5 or 6 main riding areas, like NW WY. SE WY, western MT, northern/southern CO.

John, that would be perfect! I was using tog as an example, but I get what you’re saying.

It may bring a lot more visitors to the site too.
