I have been watching thouse web cams the past couple weeks, very impressive amounts of snow. They use some old iron to plow the lot and blow it back. In johns first pic it shows that older piston bully. If you look at the other web cams (that show the road) you can see where the piston bully has basically made a "second road" next to the paved road. The only thing I can think off is that they are pushing back the snow for future snow falls, but why if they have the big blowers.

In 1972 they had 1,122 inches of snow....YES that is 93.5 FEET
Last year they only had 266 inches

That is where I got engaged in 2008. (well actually it was around 3,000' higher at a rock overhang). We had planned to hike to Camp Muir (10,000' or so) which is the overnight stop if you plan to summit, but it was a whiteout halfway up and we had to turn around.

If I remember right that parking lot is only around 5,000'. I have to see if I can find a couple pictures of that trip - the banks had to be close to 15' when we were there in late May. Obviously a very memorable one for me...
