last night we get a call at about 10 saying that my neighbor is stuck in the ditch in the next town over. we take our 4 wheel drive truck to go try and get him and we end up getting stuck in a ditch also. we got home and got a call that my cousin was stuck in the middle of the country and we had to go get him on the sleds also. we go get him and it took about half hour to get there. as were going down the state highway i counted 43 cars in the ditch that need to be pulled out today. there was probably another 30 cars that just couldnt move. the conservation police were out there trying to make sure everyone was ok. so at 3 we finally made it home from getting all these people out of their cars and to the red cross shelter on the other side of town. i couldnt believe it. 3 people rescuing 30 from cars. makes me feel kinda good about myself

Nice job, got a text from buddy in Hampshire IL said they are pulling people from cars on Route 72 in Kane County. Moved out of Hampshire to WI 6 months ago, and got hit by the northern fringe of the storm. Unbelievable.

Good job man!!! I never made it home down there last night. Been stuck up at O'Hare since 6:00am yesterday working at the ORD emergency call center and still here at 2:30 today. Hoping to be able to get out at 4 today and also hoping that 294, 80, and 57 are at least kinda O.K. That's why I moved down there. Good people willing to help no matter what.

Way to go, 550! You should feel good about helping people in distress. You didn't have to assist them, but you did! I'll be those you helped really appreciated it, even if they weren't able to thank you at the time.

Our sport gets plenty of bad press, maybe the media will pick up on some of these positive stories.

Talked to buddy today. Quite a few sledders out by Hampshire pulled about 15 poeple out of their cars between Hampshire and Genoa. Loaned one of his sleds to local firefighter who went out with them. Some had been trapped around 12 hours or so in HUGE drifts on Route 72.

They took the stranded people to the BP at 47/72/20, a person in my neighborhood was brought to the gas station and then offered a ride by the police back to the subdivision, they were in their vehicle from 7pm til 3am. I live right there and if I knew I was 2 miles from and home couldn't go anywhere I'd go crazy. Hats off to the snowmobilers that came out to help. If mine was down here I would have went out.
