I can’t tell you why??? BUT this happens up north all the time on this scale and the perps always get caught. The small time crooks have their hands in the till and biz owners fire them left and right. Next time you see a certain person exit ask what happened? If the owner trusts you they will say I had to let so in so go since I was losing money. I would say the place was packed how can that be? Then owner will say same thing I thought until I counted the money so when X was not here less peeps but more cash in the box. Lol ...CRAZY but happens all the time in northern WI.

Wow. Its terrible for sure. I can't believe that much money passes through that place. Last time I was in there it was a young guy working saying he was helping his grandparents. I always stop at the other place unless I need gas.

And there's this as well, also from TV6/uppermichigansource.com,
(click →) "Woman threatens to blow up social security building; was just kidding". Whut?

With "serial bombings" in Austin, TX, and yet another school shooting, this time at Great Mills High School in Great Mills, MD, that kind of a stupid stunt just plain ain't funny!

There have been a number of other events in recent months, in addition to assorted church and school shootings.

As a former rifle & pistol marksmanship competitor, and member of NRA since high school (and Life Member since 1963), and as one of a number of guys, members of the …

… Jr. ROTC Rifle Team that not only brought guns to school and shot them :grief: in the high school (in the basement rifle range) — but never wandered the halls shooting at people! (Imagine that!) I will say this:

It ain't the guns!

There's something else going on here. I will add the following observations over the past several months (years even?) as observed in Arizona:

  1. A dramatic, profound increase in wrong way drivers on freeways/expressway.
  2. A similar increase in hit and run events involving pedestrians - some crossing the street outside of crosswalks, some on the sidewalk(!), some at semi-sheltered bus stops.
  3. Ditto for crashing automobiles into various homes and places of business.
Events such as there were previously extremely rare to non-existent. There's been a sea change here!

But you can be sure that the librul "gun grabbers" will mindlessly remain focused as they have as long as I can remember on "the guns!", "the guns!" — foolishly presuming that restricting the law abiding folks' access to guns will solve the problem.

Like "eliminating the gun show loophole":
Someone please show me exactly how many of the criminal element have actually acquired their weapons at "gun shows"? Compare that to the number that acquired their weapons out of the trunk of their drug dealer's car in a dark alley. Will "eliminating the gun show loophole" fix that problem?

It's the damn nut cases, the whack jobs, not the guns!

And those politicians better recognize that and solve that problem instead of once again "going off half-cocked", tilting at their traditional windmills in their typical knee-jerk fashion.

'Cuz until we/they do recognize and solve the real problem, it won't stop.

I think the possibility that you are actually crazy is fairly reasonable.

Correct thread heading " what a piece of crap " Employee theft a huge problem weather it be small or big as in this case, have frequented this stop and this is just sad to day the least, thankfully she was caught as there are so many that aren't especially the small timers and little takes here or there add up to big losses for employers and more times than not employers are just stuck with the losses and only able to get rid of the employee, From the amount I'm sure she was a trusted and liked employee that eventually took advantage of her place and took it all the way to the bank. Sad.....Very sad

It is certainly sad to hear but they only accept cash (they have a sign near the gas pump). Accepting credit cards can increase costs but can also create a trail of accountability.

I had to look up the place.... turns out our club ride group of 19 had to seek refuge in there about 12 years ago as we tried to make it from CH to Ishpaming during a zero temp blizzard. It was on a Sunday before noon and the owner (i think) let us in early and made hot chocolate.

That place sure does have a lot of old timey charm about it!
Looks like it is for sale on the FB page pics.....or did it sell?....new owners,....new help????

Sorry to hear this, I've stopped there several times over the years and chatted with the owner. He's been there a long time. Didn't his wife have cancer too?

LOL!!!! I love a good sense of humor! You're right Brad, it happens here a lot too and it's sad to see the organizations it happens to. Usually low income housing, churches, and x-mas funds. In the end, it's their cross to bear. I've been stolen from before and I guess if they need it that bad then take it. I don't have to live with it, they do.
