What is a 1968 Ski Daddler worth?

My father-in-law has a 1968 ski daddler (snowscout?) and doesnt want it anymore. He doesnt collect old sleds or anything, and Im not really sure how he ended up with it. I dont know anything about vintage sleds either. So is this a sled that is worth anything? Ive seen it, and it appears to be in pretty decent unrestored shape. Needs a few things, drive chain and recoil needs some work, but it does start and run fine. Just glancing at the track it appeared good as well. He thinks it has a 19hp j-lo engine.

Thanks

While I am no expert, my opinion is that it would have to be in pretty good shape to be worth much. From your discription I would guess $100-$200. Again I am no expert, but I do spend a fair amount of time on VintageSleds.com. That would be a very good place to ask this question, there you would find an expert answer.

Another option is to sell it for parts. There maybe someone out there looking for just the engine or the skis for a restoration of their own. Most of the Vintage sites have buy & sell opportunities, that's where I would start.

BTW, that JLO engine was popular in a lot of sleds back then including Arctic Cats.

I see that you friend sold the sled, looked like it was in pretty good shape.
Glad it worked out for you.
