What would be good selling price for this sled?

I am looking to sell a 2001 Yamaha Phazer Deluxe (500 fan engine). This sled has electric start and reverse. Approximately 1000 miles. I am the original owner and the condition of this sled is almost brand new. I am not looking to "give this sled away" so interested in what people think it would worth.

Thanks for your input

I'm thinking start at $1500 if clean since no pictures all I can go on is 1000 miles which is not much probably get $1200 & could be nice kids or wife sled. If the sled is in excellent condition you could hold the price line up to you & how fast you want to move it. Good sled IMO:)

Checked NADA, Low $1100, Ave $1440. If it is a 2 up, Low $1195, Ave $1565. Considering it does have low miles & provided it runs well & needs little to nothing, appearance will play a big factor in getting any more, but not much above average.-Mezz

Thats the exact number I was thinking. This is not some beat up sled with a ton of miles on it.

Thanks

I hear Mezz but if in showroom condition throw the book out & can hold price. I sold Doo GT2up 580 in round numbers for $4k book said $2K. This one is difficult since no pictures but some of those Phazers were white & nice looking very capable fan sleds.

Easier to drop the price than raise it I always say...

I think you would have to find someone who REALLY wanted a Phazer to get much over average for it even in the condition you describe. Good sleds, but lots of them out there and then folks are going to want to know WHY it doesn't have any miles on it.

....unreliable????

Good luck and hope for snow.

IMO $2000 Take no less than $1800. you can get close to them prices by parting it out.

I agree, go look around at the used sleds and see what you get for $1000-2000, usually they're in fair shape.

Don't waste your time with a book value, given the year they won't show much of a value.

Garrett-have any pictures you can post of the sled?

I agree, it could pull in a few more $ IF it needs little to nothing & is in Excellent condition. Book does not predicate a spot on price, but as it states, "Average". If there were some pictures to look at all the away around top to bottom, it would be easier to make a sound suggestion. The price one can get is a matter of supply & demand, but remember, this sled is 13 years old, it's bound to need something, even if only 1000 miles are on it. Just my .02.-Mezz

I will have some pics by next weekend. Unfortunately this sled is housed up in the Minocqua area and I am in Illinois.

I think Whitedust is about spot on. List for 1500$ and go from there. Low miles or not, its obviously been doing a lot of sitting around. That can be just as damaging as a sled with high miles. Seals dry up, rubber dry rots, springs take a set, condensasion takes out crank bearings, etc. Not a collectors item so demand is not high. Great kids sled, so some demand there, but I think you would be hard pressed to see 2k out of it. IMO.

yea i have been looking just not ready to pull the trigger yet but from what i have seen as far as pricing it has varied from $900 to max $1600 at least thats what everyone is asking. So i would agree with snoluver thats about right

Just to clarify, this sled isn't just sitting around the garage, it gets in about 100 miles or so a year. It just is not used that much as it is my wife's sled who does not ride that often anymore. It receives regular maintenance. Once I get pictures, I will post for sale in the for sale section. This isn't the run of the mill piece of junk being sold for 1000 to 1500 with a ton of miles that has had numerous owners.

I appreciate the feedback.

I am looking for a 2 up if anyone is selling one.

I don't think anybody has insinuated that this is a "run of the mill piece of junk". You can certainly get a reasonable price for it in great condition, but I highly doubt your going to get much over the high end, some, but not much. Again, 13 years old......-Mezz

Also got lots of good input to average out for pricing & no pictures to boot.
