any reports on what's happening in snow belts, on weather radar this morning it didn't appear that much was happening on the western side of U.P. but looked like pretty active on the eastern side, warm up this weekend, hopefully wont be too damaging and will be short loved. hate to lose a good start to a long awaited season

Based on what we rode in this past Sunday in the East, Mondays warm up will have very little affect on the snow they have, might actually help settle it up a little.

I watched radar all day yesterday and we were in heavy snow squalls and nothing even appeared on the radar, strange! We were supposed to get 3-6” total, we got the upper end of 6+” and 12” on the ground total. Warmup of mid to high 30’s for Saturday and Sunday but cloudy, they should be able to set the base up nicely with snow and cold nights. Back into the 20’s by Tuesday. Lakes will be very dangerous as there is up to 10” on very weak ice. Saw a guy fishing on one of our lakes yesterday.

John addressed this many times on here that the radar they currently have in that area does not cover most lake effect. I forget the exact reasons but I'm sure someone will chime in. Maybe it was the higher terrain blocking the low lake effect snow from showing up?

I could see the lake effect bands up near Ashland and Bayfield but they never showed up by us and it was coming down hard. That explains things a little bit, hard to pinpoint forecasts when that happens.
